Say No To Racism

The views of five students in and around the say Say No Racism Campaign at the University of Nottingham. Following the action of Student Union Education Officer Craig Cox at a N.U.S event in August a group of student began a campaign to have him removed from his position. This week in the lead up to the first S.U meeting of the year, students spoke to Riseup Radio about their views on the campaign, racism within the university and the actions of Mr. Cox.

#7 The August Show

A very special show for a very special month! Almost entirely recorded at the Sumac Garden Party, on 20th July, it features live recordings from bands such as Kambasemba, Wholesome Fish and the Bonsai Project. The Garden Party took place to raise funds and awareness for the Climate Camp and there was plenty of it.. There is also a report from the strawbale building going on at the Ecoworks allotment, there is talk of the upcoming mobilisation against the BNP festival and a wicked report by Louisa from the Forest Fields Community Centre Open Day. Also poetry by Howard and Ceinie reports from Scrufts, the first Forest Fields dog show. And there’s some more stuff but you’ll have to tune in to find out more.. #6 The July Show

Ahoy! From the heart of our lovely city we bring you another lively show, this time with special guest presenter Hicham Yezza, who was arrested at Nottingham Uni in May on Terrorism Charges but is now free (on bail) to join us, talk about his experiences and play some music. We talk to people at the new occupied house on the site of a planned open cast coal mine in Derbyshire and talk with Sophie from Rising Tide about resistance against coal around the world. We brief you on recent developments with the planned BNP festival in August and met up with Captain Paul Watson from the Sea Shepherd for an exclusive interview. Music by Moonbuggy, No New Brakes, 20 Year Hurricane, Urban Space Lab, and Model Morning.
